Good news for fans of drop tunings and low-register experimentation: Gibson has unveiled a new addition to the refreshed Victory lineup, ideal for players seeking extended range. The new Gibson Victory Baritone is available now in Graphite Metallic and British Racing Green, offering a 28-inch baritone scale length, newly developed Gibson ELEV8 humbucking pickups, and a modernized look.
Following the successful 2024 debut of the refreshed Gibson Victory lineup, the series has captured the attention of all kinds of guitarists, from contemporary players to longtime fans of the original 1980s-era classic. The Victory and Victory Figured Top emerged as standout models in the new collection, which has since been expanded with new colors and the launch of a shred-ready Floyd Rose®-equipped model back in June.
The Victory Baritone continues the evolution of the Victory family while staying true to the DNA of the original designs. The model has a double-cutaway mahogany body featuring updated Victory contours, while a glued-in mahogany neck hosts the 28-inch scale length, a Rounded profile, and a compound radius ebony fretboard. Twenty-four medium jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays complete the playing surface.

A classic Explorer™-style headstock is fitted with a Graph Tech® nut and Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners up top, delivering dependable tuning stability for those lower tunings. Chrome-plated hardware completes the design, including a fully adjustable Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and a Stop Bar tailpiece for solid sustain and a familiar Gibson feel. Unlike the standard Victory models, the Victory Baritone omits the pickguard entirely, with rear-mounted electronics preserving a streamlined appearance.
The Victory Baritone also hosts a pair of new Gibson ELEV8 humbucking pickups; these have been created to deliver tight lows, assertive output, and exceptional note separation. Built with Alnico 8 magnets and custom-gauge wiring, these pickups provide the authority required for heavier modern tones while maintaining clarity and dynamic response. Push-pull master volume and tone controls enable coil splitting and inner or outer coil selection when split, while a three-way pickup selector provides quick access to a wide range of humbucking and single-coil-style sounds.
