Dave Grohl is an alternative rock legend who needs no introduction. A longtime Gibson user, his previous Gibson signature guitars have remained extraordinarily popular and command premium prices on the used market–when you can find one. Now, Gibson Custom is extremely proud to once again partner with Dave Grohl on the release of the Dave Grohl DG-335 Limited Edition. Dave has been using a customized, Alpine White version of his signature DG-335 on tour with the Foo Fighters, and this new limited edition model is also finished in the same Alpine White gloss nitrocellulose lacquer as Dave’s customized DG-335. It also features the combination of ES-335 and Trini Lopez model features Dave requested and that fans expect, including a semi-hollow three-ply maple/poplar/maple ES™ body with Trini Lopez style bound diamond-shaped sound holes, single-ply cream top and back binding, and a maple centerblock for outstanding feedback resistance. The mahogany neck has a long tenon for enhanced sustain, a hand-filling Custom Dave Grohl profile, a Firebird™/Trini Lopez style headstock with Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, a bound Indian rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, and cellulose split diamond fretboard position marker inlays. The Tone Pros ABR-1 bridge is outfitted with nylon saddles and paired with a Tone Pros locking Stop Bar tailpiece. The combination delivers excellent intonation, sustain, and tuning stability. The pickups are unpotted Custombuckers with aged Alnico 3 magnets. The pickups in the Dave Grohl DG-335 Limited Edition are wired to individual volume and tone controls that use CTS® potentiometers, the capacitors are paper-in-oil, and the pickups and controls are routed through a Switchcraft® 3-way toggle switch and 1/4” output jack. The controls are topped with Gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and have dial pointers so you can easily see your settings with just a glance. Previous releases of Gibson Dave Grohl DG-335 models have sold out fast and remain popular on the vintage market, and with only fifty guitars in this very special limited edition run, each with a soundhole label personally signed by Dave Grohl, these are sure to sell out fast, so get yours now while you still can.
