Following the success of the Les Paul Standard Double Trouble, this Studio version brings bold Double Trouble attitude to even more players
First teased at NAMM 2026 in January, Gibson has now launched the Les Paul™ Studio Double Trouble, available in a limited run in new Cherry Sunburst and Dirty Lemon Burst finishes. Handcrafted in Nashville, Tennessee, this reliable workhorse delivers the versatility and tonal range players expect from a Les Paul Studio model while elevating its visual identity with exposed Burstbucker™ Pro pickups featuring Double Classic White bobbins.
These new models follow a limited run of Les Paul Standard Double Trouble models released last summer, which received an overwhelming response. In fact, news of the launch marked our most-read Gazette story of 2025. The production run of those Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble models was limited to just 500 instruments per colorway, with both available in Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Tobacco Sunburst. New Vintage Honey Burst and Vintage Bourbon Burst finishes were later made available.

A Nashville Tune‐O‐Matic™ bridge, lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and Graph Tech® nut also combine to deliver rock‐solid tuning stability.
The shining star of the Double Trouble is a matched pair of Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups, providing power, articulation, and dynamic response. These aer outfitted with Double Classic White bobbins and left uncovered. A three-way selector switch provides quick access to neck, bridge, or blended tones, while independent volume controls with push/pull coil-tap functionality unlock single-coil‐style textures. Individual tone controls further expand the sonic palette for flexibility across genres.
