An undeniable recreation of a cherished vintage classic
Gibson Custom is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates the Gibson legacy through accuracy, authenticity, and attention to detail.
From its inaugural appearance in 1958, the Gibson ES-335 set an unmatched standard and is still considered to be one of the most versatile electric guitars ever made. The Historic Reissue ES-335 is back and better than ever, thanks to a year of studying, scanning, and listening to original examples. The expert craftspeople at the Gibson Custom Shop have rendered every contour, profile, inlay, and color of the priceless vintage ES™ models in magnificent detail. The result is a playing and ownership experience that will keep you coming back for more. This 1959 ES-335 Reissue Ultra Heavy Aged model features the classic ES semi-hollow maple/poplar/maple body with a solid maple centerblock for improved sustain and feedback resistance, as well as rounded double cutaways. The solid mahogany neck features a comfortable Medium C-shape profile, scanned from originals, and is topped with an Indian rosewood fretboard equipped with 22 authentic medium jumbo frets and complemented by pearloid dot inlays.
The 1959 ES-335 Reissue Ultra Heavy Aged model is equipped with Kluson® single-line, single-ring tuners and vintage-replica parts, including an ABR-1 bridge, a lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and gold butyrate Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. The electronics include a pair of unpotted Custombucker humbucker™ pickups with Alnico 3 magnets and authentic profile nickel silver covers, CTS® audio taper potentiometers, and paper-in-oil tone capacitors. It has also received Ultra Heavy Aging from the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aged finish treatment, paired with heavily aged hardware, simulates decades of heavy play wear, giving the 1959 ES-335 Reissue Ultra Heavy Aged the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the first Gibson Golden Era. An aged brown and pink Lifton™ hardshell case is also included to complete the package and help keep this beautiful guitar safe when you’re out on the road.
