1960 Gibson ES-330TD, Serial Number R6747 20

This 1960 ES-330TD™ is everything we like to see in a vintage guitar—the perfect balance of originality, character, and playability. Finished in a vibrant sunburst over an unusually well-figured two-piece top, this is a well-loved but overall clean example of our fully hollow thinline dual-pickup guitar. Aside from a professional refret and new bone nut, this guitar is all original and sounds as good as it looks.

The walnut-stained neck, sides, and two-piece back are overall in good condition, with light checking and moderate wear throughout, complementing the rich color of the top. The neck has the slim, fast carve typical of 1960, complemented by a fresh refret and new bone nut by Glaser Instruments. The result is a guitar with the comfortable, approachable feel of a neck worn in by decades of use and the clean, effortless playability of full-life frets. The neck binding has shrunken slightly, leaving a small gap at the nut that’s purely cosmetic and fully stable. The original Brazilian rosewood fretboard is an exceptionally dark and beautiful example.

The electronics remain completely original, including both Dogear P-90 pickups and the wiring harness featuring Centralab® potentiometers and a pair of Sprague® Black Beauty capacitors. The pickups sound exactly as they should—crisp and defined in the bridge position, warm and rounded in the neck. All solder joints are undisturbed. The neck pickup cover shows heavy playwear but is fully functional and free of any cracks. All hardware is original throughout, including the trapeze tailpiece and Kluson® Deluxe single-line white-button tuners, with light, even patina. The original ABR-1 bridge shows a light sag from age but still performs well; an aged Gibson Custom Shop ABR-1 bridge is included in the case, should the next owner wish to install it and preserve the original.

It includes the original brown-and-pink Lifton™ case, which shows typical external wear and missing metal feet but remains solid and fully functional.

Weighing just under six pounds, this is a lively, resonant example—responsive, lightweight, and ready to play.

This guitar has received a professional setup and thorough inspection from Gibson Certified Vintage and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, Letter of Appraisal, and new Limited Lifetime Warranty.
