The relationship between the ES-335 and the ES-355 is similar to that between the Les Paul™ Standard and the Les Paul Custom. The single-ply binding on the top and back is upgraded to seven-ply binding on the top and five-ply binding on the back of the body. Gold hardware replaces the nickel hardware found on the ES-335, including on the pickup covers, bridge, tailpiece, tuners, toggle switch screw, strap buttons, and every screw that is used on the guitar, from the pickguard mount to the screws on the truss rod cover.
