Gibson celebrates 50 years in Music City

Gibson has been handcrafting guitars in Nashville, Tennessee, since 1975—join the party as we celebrate and look ahead to what's next

Although our story began over 130 years ago when Orville Gibson began building his first musical instruments in his home workshop in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for the past 50 years, the Gibson company and its family of brands has called Nashville, Tennessee, its home.

2025 will see a series of activations and guitar releases in celebration of our 50 years in Music City. The party began with the launch of the Les Paul Music City Special back in July. Now, check out this video in which you'll hear from some of the talented people in our Nashville craftory, who have been building your Gibson guitars with love since our early days in Tennessee.

As stated in the video, Gibson has come a long way since moving to Nashville, and after 50 years in Music City, we're still tuning up for what's next. You'll find the latest news about all our 50th anniversary celebrations here on the Gibson Gazette. And if you find yourself in Nashville, don't forget to head to the Gibson Garage and check out our range of exclusive Gibson guitars and the latest apparel, including some killer new t-shirts and plenty more besides.
