This Mod Collection 2025 70s Explorer™ has a Golden Vindaloo finish. The modifications consist of the Mod Collection-exclusive custom finish, mixed black and gold hardware, Custombucker pickups with gold covers, a black Tune-O-Matic™ bridge with gold thumbwheels and gold Stop Bar tailpiece with black studs, black Grover® Mini Rotomatics® tuners with gold nuts, gold volume knobs and a black tone knob, and a white pearl control cover. It weighs 3.6 kg and comes with a hardshell case and two-year playability warranty.
All Gibson guitars go through rigorous QC, but every once in a while, a guitar with outstanding playability and tone doesn’t quite meet the strict cosmetic standards at our craftories. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, these instruments are sent to the Mod Collection team to use as a blank canvas—and let their imaginations run riot.
