The 80s Classic With Floyd Rose Locking Nut & Bridge, Plus A Killer Purple Splatter Finish
This eye-catching version of the Kramer 84 is sure to turn heads with its stunning Purple Splatter finish, a Kramer-exclusive graphic design that was created by artist John Knell. The 84 honors Kramer's first golden age and is one of the most influential electric guitars of all time, but it’s not just about bringing back the spirit of the 80s; this guitar is ideal for today’s musicians who are seeking a fast-playing design that can keep up with their technical virtuosity and deliver the goods for not only 80s metal but today’s modern rock and heavier genres. This renowned rocker features a lightweight alder body with a rear tummy contour that makes it comfortable to play all night and all day. The body’s deep double cutaways let you hit the high notes of your solos with ease. The smooth, non-sticky, satin-finished bolt-on hard maple neck has a walnut skunk stripe on the back, a 25.5” scale length, a maple fretboard, and a fast-playing Kramer K-Speed SlimTaper C profile. The 22 jumbo frets facilitate easy string bends and left-hand vibrato, and the front of the non-angled, big banana headstock is also finished in purple to match the body color. Yeah, it looks as great as it plays, and killer looks are important to every self-respecting shredder.
The Kramer 84’s nickel hardware includes a set of die-cast tuners and an Allen wrench holder that’s conveniently located on the back of the headstock, so you always have the tools you need available for quick string changes and other adjustments. The Floyd Rose® 1000 Series Tremolo and R2 Locking Nut deliver unmatched tuning stability, regardless of how manic the wiggle stick acrobatics get. So, it has killer looks and is fast, highly expressive, and feels great, to play, but what about the sound? That is where the Kramer 85-T humbucker™ pickup comes in. This pickup was designed by Gibson Master Luthier Jim DeCola and delivers all of the tone you want and the scorching hot output that you need to drive your amp – and your fans – into a frenzy. This open-coil pickup has cool-looking zebra bobbins and is mounted directly into the alder body for more resonance and sustain and a streamlined, no-nonsense look. The controls are wonderfully simple, with a single volume knob connected to a push/pull potentiometer that is wired for series/parallel pickup coil switching, delivering two different classic tones from a single humbucking pickup. The nickel volume knob is knurled so no matter how hot and sweaty the action gets under the stage lights, you’ll always keep and good grip on it and remain in total control. The volume knob is also rear-mounted, so the awesome graphics on the front of the body are not covered up by a pickguard. The lack of a pickguard also simplifies pickup height adjustment of the body-mounted pickup, and the easy access lets players quickly dial that in just where they want it if they want to change the factory setup. The 84 arrives packed in a Kramer premium gig bag so this rockin’ shred machine can safely travel along with you wherever the road takes you.
