1950s-inspired, pimped for time travel.

No Gibson celebration is complete without a Les Paul™ Standard, and here, this Standard 50s model looks like it has taken a cosmic joyride through the psychedelic 1960s and glam-rock 1970s. Like its compadres in the High Five Collection—a Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut, an Epiphone USA Coronet, a Gibson Custom Explorer™ Custom, and a Firebird™ Platypus 10-String—the Coronet comes finished in an exclusive new color-shifting heavy flake sparkle set to stun audiences whenever it appears on stage or screen, and celebrating five years of weird and wonderful Mod Collection guitars.

Based on the ever-popular platform of the Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s model and handcrafted in Nashville, Tennessee, customizations here include the aforementioned color-shifting finish, which changes color as it moves under lights, plus a gold pickguard and control plates, Top Hat knobs, and black keystone buttons on the tuners. It’s the only guitar in the High Five Collection with a carved top, the contours of which really showcase that exclusive finish.

The Gibson Les Paul Standard needs little introduction, of course, but for nearly 75 years, various iterations of this most iconic of solidbody electric guitars have been used to birth and define genres across the whole spectrum of music, from starched-collar jazz to shirtless and sweat-drenched hard rock, and all points in between. Mahogany, maple, and Burstbucker™ humbucking pickups combine here in the time-honoured fashion to produce an array of tones with the requisite depth and bite for pretty much any musical mission.

With no weight relief and a satisfyingly palm-filling 50s Vintage neck profile, this is the archetypal Les Paul Standard experience manifest, unadulterated, and undiluted—with a sensational finish that could stop traffic. Shipped in a hardshell Gibson case to keep this one-of-one instrument safe on the road, we’re willing to bet this Les Paul is a sure-fire hit with its future owner. We strongly recommend clicking “Add to cart” before someone else does…

All Gibson instruments go through rigorous QC, but every once in a while, a guitar with outstanding playability and tone doesn’t quite meet the strict cosmetic standards at our craftories. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, these instruments are sent to the Mod Collection team to use as a blank canvas—and let their imaginations run riot. With a fresh batch of Gibson Mod Collection guitars dropping every week, act fast to get your hands on these one-of-a-kind guitars with unique hardware and electronics customizations, and the wildest finishes in Music City.

Gibson Mod Collection products may have minor cosmetic defects which are listed in the Warranty Evaluation for each product. These defects are AS-IS and are not covered under the Gibson Mod Collection's Limited Warranty.
