However, some players have been known to modify their Les Paul Juniors; one of the more popular modifications is replacing the stock Dogear P-90 with a humbucker™ for improved hum resistance. Now, Gibson is proud to offer the Les Paul Junior Double Cut with Humbucker, which comes straight from the craftory, without the sometimes questionable quality of third-party modifications.
While the Les Paul Junior Double Cut is relatively simple, some players underestimate this legendary guitar’s versatility. While this single-pickup solidbody electric guitar was initially designed as a student model, the number of different tones that are available simply by adjusting the position of the volume and tone knobs and the position of your picking hand is nearly unlimited. It has resulted in the enthusiastic embrace of the model by countless professional musicians across genres and generations. The Les Paul Junior Double Cut with Humbucker’s double cutaway body also offers unimpeded access to the entire length of the fretboard, including the upper frets, making it an excellent choice for lead guitarists, too.
The Les Paul Junior Double Cut with Humbucker features a slab, double-cutaway mahogany body and mahogany neck with a fast-playing SlimTaper™ profile that is topped with a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and adorned with simple acrylic dot inlays. The Wraparound bridge bolts straight into the body for exceptional sustain, while the Graph Tech® nut and Vintage Deluxe tuners with white buttons ensure rock-solid tuning stability.

Instead of the usual Dogear P-90 in the bridge position, the Les Paul Junior Double Cut with Humbucker features an unpotted Custombucker humbucker with an Alnico 3 magnet for improved hum resistance and a somewhat warmer and smoother tone.
