The Gibson Explorer™ was way ahead of its time when it was introduced in 1958, and only 19 were shipped that year, but it has become very popular in the years since then. The classic vintage Explorer features have been carefully recreated in this Historic Reissue model. Featuring an ABR-1 bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, a Korina body, Custombucker pickups, Korina neck, Indian rosewood fretboard, two volume and one tone control with CTS® pots and a phone book capacitor, gold hardware, Kluson® tuners, and a 4-ply pickguard. A historically accurate case is included, with a classic brown exterior and plush pink interior.

The delivery of the new

"The delivery of the new guitar left a lot to be desired. FedEx postponed the delivery date several times without any explanation, and at one point even claimed that they had attempted delivery. Since we have been present the whole time, we can confirm with certainty that this is not true. This makes the whole purchase experience rather disappointing. My new Gibson Custom 1958 Korina Explorer Reissue, VOS, Natural meets most of the demands one can place on an instrument. The finish and setup of the guitar are really great. The Custombucker pickups sound marvellous and are everything one could hope for. While the craftsmanship is good, its quality does not demonstrate a significant advantage to justify the huge price difference when compared to an Epiphone Inspired By Gibson Custom. All in all, I am satisfied with my new guitar and hope to enjoy it for a long time."
