The Gibson Songwriter was introduced in the late 1990s and features a unique Gibson square-shoulder modern dreadnought body design. The bound headstock has a rosewood veneer that features the Gibson logo and crown inlaid in mother of pearl. The nut is bone, and high-quality gold Grover® open-back tuners are fitted. The bridge is also ebony and is equipped with a bone saddle and TUSQ® bridge pins, and decorated with mother-of-pearl arrow inlays. The sensors are matched with optimized individual preamps to deliver full-bodied, amplified acoustic tone that lets the guitar’s character and personality come through when amplified, with no impact on the unamplified tone.
