Production Scheduler
This position plays an integral role in the production scheduling and inventory management of Gibson Custom Shop. Weekly scheduling of daily Custom Shop production based on Constraint evaluation, Core product inventory levels, Order Aging, and component availability in a high mix, low volume, complex variables environment. The role will also ensure inventory accuracy though audit of schedule adherence, BOM maintenance, item setup, and inventory consumption while participating in cross functional teams. As inventory discrepancies are found, the incumbent will be responsible for driving correction actions as appropriate through process analysis and training.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities will include:
- Generating daily production schedule for high mix, low volume production environment.
- Confirming schedule accuracy and feasibility through constraint evaluation and cross functional teamwork.
- Works closely with New Product and Made to Measure coordinators to fulfil Launch and delivery commitments.
- Generates and speaks to daily, weekly, and monthly adherence-to-schedule metrics.
- Performing inventory cycle counts as required.
- Communicates production plans and needs to company performance stakeholders.
- Reviewing and responding to needed adjustments, delivering root cause analysis corrective actions
- Responsible for coordinating item setup, including bill of material review and development
- Ability to read specification sheets and interpret impacts to bill of material development
- Generates report-outs related to findings and adjustments of inventory
- Coordinates with master scheduler to review daily schedule performance related to high risk items
- Participates in formal process improvement events.
- Other duties as assigned.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Experience
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics or D365 preferable) in a production environment
- Proficiency in MS word, excel and power point.
- Experience analyzing BOM consumption and discrepancies
- Experience working with physical inventories
Preferred Experience
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Preferred minimum experience of 5 years in a high mix, low volume production environment in a relatable role.
- Knowledge of, and prior experience in Lean concepts in operations planning
