The NAMM Show 2026 has already provided you with a taste of what’s to come in terms of new electric and acoustic guitars from Gibson, Gibson Custom, and Epiphone. Now, we’re here to show you what happens when the artisans behind our Gibson Custom and Mod Collection guitars get to flex their creative muscles and create a series of one-of-one instruments available only to Gibson Custom dealers. Scroll onwards for some of the highlights of a very special series of guitars, including hand-carving, innovative paintwork, and plenty more besides.

Gibson Custom “100 Years of B.B. King” Lucille

Gibson Custom “100 Years of B.B. King” Lucille

One of three made in celebration of B.B. King’s posthumous 100th birthday in 2025, and the only one made in this absolutely breathtaking purple sparkle finish. It also features hand-inlaid gold sparkle purfling all over, as well as a special engraved solid brass pickguard. An instrument that is truly fit for a King in every sense.

Gibson Mod Collection “Metallic Mutant” 1959 ES-355 Reissue

Gibson Mod Collection “Metallic Mutant” 1959 ES-355 Reissue

Mod Collection artist Garrett Brolund created this absolutely jaw-dropping art instrument through freehand experimentation with multiple pattern styles within different “window panes” on the surfaces of the guitar. Among the many amazing details are the clear-bobbin humbuckers that feature custom green winding wire to match the finish.

Gibson Custom “Atomic Age” Concept Guitar

This retro-futuristic brainchild of Custom Shop Product Engineer Darron Dubose features a solid Korina body and a mahogany neck that have completely unique designs and contours. It’s accented with Midcentury Modern-style bowtie and amoeba shapes throughout, and a bevy of other bold choices, from the single “G” headstock inlay and raised Gibson logo on the pickguard to the string-through construction and split coil neck humbucker. Is this the next “Moderne”? Time will tell.

Gibson Mod Collection “Ripped and Torn” EDS-1275

Inspired by duality characters such as Jekyll and Hyde, Harvey Dent, and the Wonder Twins, a doubleneck EDS seemed the perfect vehicle to showcase this sparkly and multifaceted concept from the mind of Mod Collection artist Garrett Brolund.

Gibson Mod Collection “Cosmic Stew” Les Paul Supreme

Veteran Gibson painter and Mod Shop artist Tom Morgan says, “Cosmic Stew is one of the first and most enduring finishes of the MOD Collection, so it seemed only fitting to have one as part of the NAMM showcase. The finish was originally inspired by trying to create depth in finishes while evoking an atmospheric outer-space vibe.”

Gibson Custom “Full Flame” SG Standard

Gibson Custom “Full Flame” SG Standard

A visual tour de force, this SG wraps the player in the warmth of hand-picked solid flamed mahogany, a rare and coveted wood variety that graces the neck, body, and even the custom pickguard. One-of-a-kind carving work by Custom Shop luthier Matt Sneddon adds a personal and sophisticated touch, and the premium artistry is tied together with gold-plated hardware throughout.

Gibson Custom “Quilted & Contoured” Theodore

Gibson Custom “Quilted & Contoured” Theodore

This is the only Theodore model Gibson Custom Shop has made outside of the limited-edition Archive Series run, and it is a stunner. Spec’d and crafted by Custom Shop luthier Eric Holada, it features a fully rounded body outline, a triple-stained quilted maple top, and a subtle hand-inlaid accent between the pickups.

Gibson Mod Collection “Time Machine” Les Paul Custom

Gibson Mod Collection “Time Machine” Les Paul Custom

Veteran Gibson painter Tom Morgan has seen and done it all during his legendary career, and this gorgeous Les Paul Custom is a perfect showcase of his incredible abilities, utilizing color-shifting sparkle base coats and a bright gold floral pattern on top. He had a vision of this design, much like Doc Brown and the Flux Capacitor, hence the name “Time Machine.”

Intricate relief carving from Custom luthier Matt Sneddon, along with another of his completely unique pickguard designs, perfectly complements the angular Explorer body with a unique, vibrant red stain accenting the artistry and beautiful Custom appointments.

Gibson Custom “Foliage” Les Paul Florentine

Gibson Custom “Foliage” Les Paul Florentine

Incredibly intricate and creative hand-carving work from Custom Shop luthier Matt Sneddon, this time on a chambered Les Paul Custom platform featuring a “Tree of Life” fingerboard inlay on its striped ebony fingerboard. Its top is accented with raised turquoise designs, while the rims, back, and neck showcase more beautiful carving amidst an antique hand-rubbed stain appearance.
