Few instruments achieve the sort of reverence that the Gibson ES-335 has. Designed to live in the sonic space between solidbody guitars like the Les Paul™ and a hollowbody, the ES-335 captured the warmth of the latter while being less prone to feedback like the former. This made the ES-335 and its kin popular with players from nearly every style as rock and roll continued its evolution into the 1960s.

From the Gibson Vault, this stunning 1961 ES-335TD has a beautifully aged Sunburst finish and is in all-original condition with the exception of correct double-ring reproduction tuners (the original tuners are also included). The one-piece mahogany neck has a Brazilian rosewood fretboard and a 1961 SlimTaper™ profile. Two original Patent Applied For humbucker™ pickups provide exactly the kind of open, warm, clear tone for which they’re famed.

The guitar shows some lacquer checking and light play wear throughout, particularly around the f-holes, and there are some chips on the corners of the headstock. It includes its original black Gibson hardshell case with yellow interior.
