The iconic 90s-era two-channel Dual Rectifier returns in standard dress

The world of rock guitar felt a tremor in 1992 with the release of the Dual Rectifier® Solo Head. It was a new voice from MESA®, aimed at all things heavy, featuring scooped midrange, ominous low end, and a ripping, harmonic-laden top end woven into a mighty wall of tube gain. With a “feel” as empowering as its sound, the Rectifiers provided an ease of playing that supported and elevated proficiency and was inspirational, rewarding, and addictive.

Groundbreaking in both its feature set and appearance, this diamond-plated statement gained momentum and soon ruled radio, as top artists of the day used its menacing sound on hits destined to define moments in rock. Now we add the original Standard dress to the mix for an iconic, yet also more affordable rendering of this game-changing model. It features the original Black chassis, chrome Speed knobs, and natural aluminum Diamond Plate for a package as distinctive in look as it is in sound.

In tribute to this icon and its effect on the musical era it arose from, here’s a classic 90s Dual Rectifier Standard, giving those wanting the original Solo Head’s Vintage/Orange and Modern/Red overdrive sounds a chance to own the classic new, along with an improved Clean Mode. A flattering tribute and upgrade to one of the most iconic recorded – and modeled – tube amplifiers of the last 30 years.

Key features:

  • Dual channel simplicity – Simple, straightforward design (as compared to the current three-channel 2010 model), delivering killer tones and ease of use
  • Channel Style/Cloning – Allows “cloning” of the mode voicings of either channel
  • Patented switchable rectifiers – Tube or silicon diode rectification to tune the sound, character, and feel.
  • 100-watts of robust Class A/B tube power – Bias Select for stock 6L6 or a swap to EL34 tube types.
  • Bold/Spongy “Variac” switch – Reduced voltage setting for increased harmonics and elastic feel.

Highlights

  • Dual channel simplicity
  • Channel style/cloning
