A manufacturer’s warranty is a guarantee that a product will work as expected for a certain time period. For example if your guitar fails due to manufacturing defects on parts and pickups, your Gibson warranty would cover repair or replacement. Insurance provides protection for your instrument during the lifetime of the policy, for unforeseen events such as accidental damage, loss, theft, fire and flood.

Lark Music will contact you before your free cover period ends and will send you your renewal invite with your renewal quote and details on how you can continue cover.

The free insurance is not transferable to other instruments if they were not purchased at the Gibson Garage when you took up the free insurance offer. If you do need to make any changes or cancel your cover you can advise Lark Music of the change. If you cancel your free cover you will not pay a fee.

Your insurance policy is with Lark Music and not with Gibson Garage London. If you need to make a claim, you would contact Lark Music directly, details of how to do this will be in your policy documents.

You cannot activate the free insurance on behalf of someone else. However, if you activate the free cover for the guitar you have purchased and then get in touch with Lark Music to transfer the ownership to the gift recipient, we will be able to assist you with that so they can have their new guitar covered and take over the free policy.

Not all insurance policies are the same, and there may be some distinct differences between the level of cover a home contents insurance policy provides compared to a specialist music insurance policy. If your instrument is particularly valuable or essential
to your work, you may wish to ask questions of your home contents policy such as –
• Will there be an excess to pay should I need to make a claim?
• Will any claim be subject to an excess?
• If I make a claim for my instrument, would this affect my renewal premium?
• Is my instrument covered automatically or does it need to be specified? Is there a single item limit?
• Will my instrument be covered outside the home?
• Will my instrument be covered in commercial venues like rehearsal spaces, pubs or hotels?
