Job Summary: This Assistant Manager of Manufacturing Engineer (AMME) position is based at the Gibson Custom site in Nashville and provides solutions and leadership in a low volume/high mix environment. Leading a small team of Engineering disciplines, the AMME brings a wide range of skills and experience in a hands-on approach to expand capabilities in process design, programming, assembly and tooling. Collaboration with cross-functional team members is essential, as well as mentoring and developing key members within this function’s team.
Essential Functions:
Main duties
- Overall responsibility of the manufacturing processes in a low volume, high mix, high-skilled production environment. Safety-Quality-Cost-Delivery
- Approximately 50% of the AMME position is providing and implementing solutions as a hands-on individual contributor.
- The other duty is to drive stability, consistency, and productivity within the Engineering Skills to support process stability and throughput.
- Prioritize team efforts based on business needs.
- Effective planning/preparation for new product introductions

Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 5+ years of experience (manufacturing environment is a requirement)
- Experience in a leadership position preferred
- Design and analyze tooling for machining and assembly
- Computer aided design (CAD) software (Catia, Creo, Solidworks, ProE, etc)
- Experience working in and deploying sound Industrial Engineering concepts
- PLC and/or CNC programming a plus
- DFM/DFA experience a plus
- Fixture and Tooling Design
- Experience with wood as a production material a plus.
