OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

The Software Development Engineer, reporting directly to the Senior Development Manager and sitting within the Web team, will be responsible for: executing full lifecycle software development; producing specifications and documenting system designs; programming well-designed and testable code; and participating in unit tests, test automation, and deployments. This role requires analytical thinking, the ability to deal with ambiguity, experience with e-commerce, and a desire to work on a wide array of development tasks. The Software Development Engineer, together with the company’s Web and Marketing teams, will be accountable for evolving Gibson’s portfolio of web properties and e-commerce capabilities.
 
The Software Development Engineer role is very important as updating our web and e-commerce infrastructure is critical to the company’s ability to provide a better customer experience for our fans and our network of sellers who distribute Gibson’s products worldwide. As an important member of the team, the Software Development Engineer must ensure new products and features are well built with industry best practices and support scalability and portability across multiple geographies.
 
Willingness to dive deep into the details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture will be critical to finding pragmatic solutions. A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and successful experiences working in a fast-paced, multi-functional, and international team are required.
