The Gibson Hummingbird Standard is handcrafted with care in Bozeman, Montana, by Gibson’s expert acoustic luthiers and features a square-shoulder body crafted using solid mahogany for the back and sides. The top is solid Sitka spruce and is reinforced with scalloped X-bracing. This proven construction is equally capable of holding down the rhythm in the hands of a rock ‘n’ roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter. Both the top and back are framed with multi-ply binding, and the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes its classic Hummingbird aesthetic. Along with the iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard, these design elements have made this model instantly recognizable to generations of players and music fans.

The Hummingbird Standard’s mahogany neck is attached to the body with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint using hot hide glue and features a comfortable Round profile. The neck is equipped with a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. The reverse-belly bridge is also crafted from rosewood. This ’bird has a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins. Paired with high-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, the smooth, self-lubricating nut helps ensure solid tuning stability.
