Gibson collaborates with Marc Jacobs on customized “Joy” Les Pauls

Gibson Spotlight Artist Devon Thompson performs at “Marc Jacobs at The Corner” launch during New York Fashion Week

Gibson has partnered with American fashion icon Marc Jacobs as part of a series of activations under the banner of the brand's “Joy” campaign. In addition to a limited-edition capsule collection created in collaboration with renowned artists David Shrigley, Derrick Adams, and Hattie Stewart, Jacobs has also invited what Jacobs describes as “a circle of likeminded partners” to “interpret the campaign through their own iconic products.”

Four Gibson Les Paul™ models—three Les Paul Studios featuring designs by Hattie Stewart and one Les Paul Standard with a “Daisy Joy” design by Marc Jacobs—have been created for the partnership, along with custom guitar straps and pick tins complete with six guitar picks. Other brands collaborating with Jacobs include Converse, Barbie, Moleskine, and Crayola.

New York Fashion Week saw the first public appearance of the customized Gibson Les Pauls at the launch of “Marc Jacobs at The Corner”—the new Marc Jacobs and Nordstrom pop-up store on 57th and Broadway. Attendees included Marc Jacobs himself, Whoopi Goldberg, Derrick Adams, and many other luminaries, as Gibson Spotlight Artist Devon Thompson performed a solo set using one of the Gibson Les Pauls adorned with Hattie Stewart artwork.

“Music and fashion have long been inseparable as forms of self-expression, so this collaboration in the name of joy felt incredibly fitting and necessary in this moment,” says Katie Knipper, who spearheaded the collaboration for Gibson. “Our Gibson team worked tirelessly with the Marc Jacobs and Nordstrom teams to make ‘Joy’ happen, and having Devon bring things to life in real time was a cherry on top!”

The Marc Jacobs “Joy” experience will roll out globally through immersive installations and curated pop-ups at Nordstrom NYC, Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Isetan in Tokyo, and The Standard High Line in New York—culminating at Art Basel Miami in December. The capsule collection launches in September 2025 in select Marc Jacobs boutiques worldwide, online, and at exclusive gallery-inspired pop-ups in New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo.

The ultra-limited Gibson Les Paul models with custom artwork are available for purchase at Nordstrom NYC and select Marc Jacobs boutiques. Straps and pick tins are available now via Nordstrom.
