Introducing the Gibson Brands Virtual Guitar Tech Service

Do you have questions about basic guitar setup skills, tips, or techniques?

We offer online instructional videos in the Gibson Guide to Guitar Setup and Maintenance featuring Gibson Master Luthier Jim DeCola that cover many guitar care topics, allowing you to self-service your instrument on your own schedule. We also offer free video-based services via Zoom video call for players who prefer personalized help self-servicing their Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer, or Steinberger instrument. The Virtual Guitar Tech (VGT) service provides you with real-time, interactive assistance from an experienced technician who will help guide you through the process.

Our Virtual Guitar Techs are here to help you with the following:

  • Replace your strings.
  • Clean your instrument.
  • Condition the fretboard.
  • Tune the instrument.
  • Adjust the truss rod.
  • Set pickup height.
  • Set your guitar’s action.
  • Set the intonation.

Our technicians also offer a concierge service to answer detailed product questions about the current Gibson Brands lineup of products. If you are trying to decide which new guitar or replacement pickup is right for you, we’ve got you covered!

Virtual Guitar Tech appointments do not help with:
