Gibson Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway has stellar features of two favorite models

Gibson USA expands its double-cut, carved-top solidbody electric guitar line with the new Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway. The Classic DC combines outstanding features from two popular Gibson models - the timeless goldtop finish, bound body and bound fingerboard of the Les Paul Classic, and the lightweight, chambered mahogany body of the Les Paul Standard Double Cutaway.

"Now that the double-cut carved-top Les Paul is an established and widely accepted model, guitarists are demanding more options," said Henry Juszkiewicz, Gibson chairman and CEO. "The goldtop Classic DC offers them an appealing combination of traditional Gibson styling on a new, modernized Les Paul."

Gibson USA's introduction of the Les Paul Standard DC in 1998 was the most successful model debut in Gibson history. It brought a double-cutaway body shape, previously available only on the Les Paul Special and Junior, together with the carved maple top that has been the Les Paul Standard's hallmark since its introduction in 1952. Like the single-cutaway Les Paul Classic, the new double-cutaway has a carved maple top, 1960-style slim-tapered neck, aged trapezoid fingerboard inlay and nickel-plated hardware. It comes in a brilliant bullion gold finish and is available with Alnico-magnet humbuckers or two single-coil P-90 pickups.
