Gibson enhances pure tone of '50s bestseller with new Les Paul Jr. amp

Gibson Labs, the technology division of Gibson Guitar Corp., has designed a new version of the classic GA-5 Les Paul Junior amplifier that combines vintage-style Class A tube circuitry with modern technology.

The original Les Paul Junior was Gibson's best-selling guitar amp of the 1950s and is highly sought by vintage collectors. The new Les Paul Junior enhances the pure, all-tube sound of the original.

The new amp uses all tube Class-A circuitry with vintage-style point-to-point wiring as a starting point. With no tone control to get in the way of the natural guitar tone, the Les Paul Junior's volume control provides an expressive range of classic guitar sounds, from clean to overdriven.

With modern improvements, such as an efficient Gibson Goldtone speaker, a solid-state rectifier and top quality cabinet materials, the new Les Paul Junior serves up a powerful, pure sound that even the original units can't match.
