Alicia Keys performs with Baldwin on Good Morning America
Alicia Keys, 22, whose sophomore album The Diary of Alicia Keys debuted at No. 1 this week on The Billboard 100 chart, played a Baldwin digital piano during her appearance for the Fall Concert Series on ABC's "Good Morning America" November 26 in New York City. The five-time Grammy award winner performed her new Top Five R&B single, "You Don't Know My Name."
Keys, a Manhattan native, started playing piano when she was just 5 years old and taking classical lessons at 7. She grew up in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood with a piano dividing her bedroom from the living room in the apartment she shared with her mother. As a gifted student, she graduated early from Manhattan's Professional Performance Arts School with a choir major.
She began writing songs while still in her teens, and her debut on Clive Davis' J Records label, Songs in the Key of A Minor has hip-hop, jazz, R&B and classical influences. It went multi-platinum after her first single, "Fallin," was a hit.
Keys thanked Baldwin Piano on "The View" during her appearance on the top-rated ABC morning show this week.
