Patriotic Baldwin pianos grace window display on New York's 57th Street
Most people have never seen a Baldwin Custom Jubilee Red or Beale Street Blue grand piano, but that's exactly what's on display at Frank & Camille's Fine Pianos in mid-town Manhattan. Together with a more traditional white piano, the musical instrument dealer has put together a window display that is turning heads up and down West 57th Street near Central Park.
"We wanted to take advantage of our visibility on 57th Street to make a statement in support of our country. These are difficult times for Americans, and especially for New Yorkers, so it's important to convey the message that we still live in the greatest city in the best country in the world," says John Watts, store manager. "I think these red, white and blue pianos make that point in a powerful, yet artistic way."
The custom red and blue pianos are 7-foot Baldwin SF10 Artist Grands, the same American-made, hand-crafted pianos that have been popular for over 150 years. (The white player piano on display is by another manufactur.)
To see the display, visit Frank & Camille's Fine Pianos on 57th at 29 West 57th Street, between 5th and 6th Ave. in Manhattan. For more information call (212) 832-8289.

At the turn of the twentieth century, Baldwin pianos won international awards, and by the end of the century Baldwin was the largest American piano maker. Baldwin joined Gibson Guitar Corp. in 2001, and is now headquartered in Nashville. The Baldwin family of brands includes Wurlitzer, Chickering, Ellington and D.H. Baldwin.
