Gibson Digital Guitar with Xilinx chip named Best of Show finalist at Embedded Systems Conference
Xilinx, whose reprogrammable chips enable the Gibson Digital Guitar, today announced that the Gibson Digital Guitar has been selected as a finalist for the Best of Show award at the Embedded Systems Conference San Francisco, which runs through Saturday (4/26) at the Moscone Convention Center. With more than 11,500 attendees and over 300 exhibitors anticipated, the Embedded Systems Conference is renowned for showcasing the most innovative technological breakthroughs in embedded electronics design.
Xilinx's reprogrammable Spartan-IIE FPGA chip is an enabling critical component in Gibson's groundbreaking guitar, which uses Gibson's MaGIC digital transport protocol. The Xilinx enabled guitar is on display in Xilinx booth #1813.
A prestigious panel of judges, including Lindsey Vereen, editorial director, Embedded Systems Programming, Jim Turley, microprocessor analyst and editor of Silicon-Insider, Daya Nadamuni, principal analyst, Gartner Dataquest, Larry Mittag, contributing editor, Embedded Systems Programming, and Bernie Cole, managing editor, EE Times selected the finalists from a total of 30 entries, all featuring embedded technology in end-user applications.
