Gibson CEO jams on digital guitar with Slash at Comdex keynote event

Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz teamed up with rock superstar Slash to show off the worlds first digital guitar at the Comdex convention in Las Vegas. Their performance of "Knock Knock Knockin on 64" (Slashs parody of Dylans "Knockin on Heavens Door"), highlighted a keynote speech by Hector Ruiz, CEO of the AMD company.

Gibson and AMD have recently joined forces to develop an interface between Gibsons MaGIC digital guitar technology and an AMD Athlon 64-bit digital audio workstation. Slash, Juszkiewicz and the Gibson digital guitar all appeared together at the AES show in October, when the Gibson/AMD project was announced, but the Comdex performance was the first for the digital guitar. AMD, a Fortune 500 and Standard & Poors 500 company, produces microprocessors, flash memory devices, and support circuitry for communications and networking applications.
