Baldwin, Gibson, A.J. Foyt goin' racin' at Nashville Superspeedway

Baldwin Piano and Gibson are goin' racin'. Gibson/Baldwin Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz announced today a marketing partnership with A.J. Foyt's Harrah's Racing team for the Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway, July 18-20, 2002.

"We, at Baldwin Pianos, are excited to join A.J. Foyt's team because the name Foyt is synonymous with winning and being the best in his field," Mr. Juszkiewicz said. "A.J.'s team not only won the Indy car race, they won the race before it -the Infiniti Pro Series race-with his grandson, A.J. Foyt IV driving! We believe we are the best in our field, and we're very happy to associate our brand with the best of the best in Indy car racing."

"A.J.'s famous Number 14 Indy car is driven by Airton Dare who won the race last Sunday at Kansas Speedway. Airton and A.J. will be looking to make it two in a row at Nashville," said the Baldwin chief executive.

Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell, SunTrust Bank Chairman and CEO Sam Franklin, Bridgestone/Firestone Vice President of Public Affairs Christine Karbowiak and Nashville SuperSpeedway General Manager Cliff Hawks joined Mr. Juszkiewicz for the announcement at the Nashville riverfront.

Last week two of the Foyt team's cars raced to Victory Circle at the Kansas Speedway. In addition to Dare, who won his first ever Indy race, racing legend Foyt's 18-year-old grandson, A.J. Foyt IV, captured the inaugural Infiniti Pro Series Kansas 100 race.

"Sunday at Kansas Speedway was a day that I will remember for a long time," said the proud grandfather and team namesake. "We hit the Harrahs jackpot twice that day, winning in the Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series and the Indy Racing League. Kansas Speedways Victory Circle was beginning to look like home to me."
