Gibson hails new home run king with Giants guitar
Barry Bonds became Major League Baseball's new home run king this weekend hitting three dingers for a total of 73 home runs and set a new single season record. Bonds launched himself into the record book Friday night by smacking his 70th home run of the season tying St. Louis Cardinal Mark McGwire's 3-year-old home run record.

Gibson Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz recently visited Bonds and manager Dusty Baker at the Giant's Pacific Bell Park to present him an official San Francisco Giants Gibson USA Les Paul. The customized Les Paul Junior features an image of Bonds as well as Giant heroes Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal.
Gibson made only five Giants guitars that were presented to the team. They will be used by the Giants to raise funds for its diverse community outreach programs. |
Last June, Chicago Cubs Vice President of Marketing, John McDonough was presented a Chicago Cubs Gibson Les Paul by Mr. Juszkiewicz on behalf of the Cubs Care Charity Network.
