Going, going, gone

Weary and happy players from the veteran New York Yankees and surprising Arizona Diamondbacks are savoring their league championships and champagne as they prepare for the start of Major League Baseball World Series Saturday night. Gibson has being playing ball all season and assisting charities with exclusive, limited edition major league Les Paul guitars for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and Florida Marlins.

Homerun king Barry Bonds, Gibson Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz
and manager Dusty Baker

"These teams represent organizations who have dedicated and enthusiastic fans," says Gibson Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz. "Much like Gibson guitar players, they are passionate and devoted. As an American manufacturer, Gibson is celebrating over 100 years of innovation and excellence by recognizing two great American traditions; baseball and electric guitars."

Each artistically crafted, Gibson USA guitar is in team colors with the team logo. Most are outfitted with the names and images of prominent players past and present and Hall of Famer, as well as renditions of the teams' home stadiums. Each Les Paul Junior took several months to create and has an estimated value of $8000.

Only three to five guitars were manufactured for each team. The teams used their limited edition Gibsons to raise funds for local team charities. Home run.
