Gibson's Sunset Strip billboard wins advertising award

 In Southern California, where looks matter and pop culture prevails, the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce rewarded more aesthetically pleasing "outdoor advertising" (read billboards) with recognition for the best work: the Sunset Strip Billboard Awards.

Last Thursday, the second annual awards show lauded Gibson's winning outdoor ad as well as boards by Evian, The Learning Channel, De Beers diamonds, Apple, the Hard Rock Caf and five others for their creativity. Gibson's explosive billboard features the image of a nuclear mushroom cloud juxtaposed with a Gibson Les Paul Standard with the text, "Welcome to ground zero."

The Gibson billboards are running in several major markets including New York City (Times Square), Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta and Nashville.
