A one-of-a-kind Gibson Custom electric guitar, made especially for Lava/Atlantic recording artist Kid Rock, is missing and presumed stolen. The guitar, a new Gibson Custom SG model custom-painted in a stars and stripes motif, was discovered missing by Customs inspectors overseas, where Kid Rock arrived this week on his way to an undisclosed location to perform for U.S. servicemen and women as part of an MTV/USO holiday television special, For the Troops: An MTV/USO Special.

Anyone with information on the missing guitar, serial #010902, should contact Nick Stern at Atlantic Records, 212-707-2051.

Hosted by Carson Daly, the special will air New Year's Day at 2 p.m. ET/PT. The program will include the concert--which will have been staged at an undisclosed military base--as well as behind-the-scenes reports, interviews with the troops and clips with J.Lo, Ja Rule and Kid Rock rubbing elbows with the servicemen and women.

The guitar was last seen at Kid Rocks Michigan studio, where it was packed in a large case with a number of other guitars and then transported to the airport along with other equipment. Also missing along with the instrument is a hand-made rhinestone and beaded guitar strap embroidered with the name ROCK.

Kid Rock had hoped to play the guitar live on stage for the first time during the taping of the For the Troops. I just want to get it back, he said.

The one-of-a-kind SG was among a group of Stars and Stripes instruments made recently by Gibson's Custom, Art & Historic division luthiers that have been played at recent tribute concerts, telethons and fundraisers.

Kid Rocks new album, Cocky, was released on November 20.
