Gibson, Tammy Cochran create 'Angels in Waiting' to benefit handicapped
No country song this year has created quite the outpouring of emotion and critical acclaim as Tammy Cochran's "Angel in Waiting." The lyrics pay homage to her two older brothers Alan and Shawn. Both boys passed away from cystic fibrosis.
Cochran says that their lives and deaths have influenced her life in every possible way. "What matters is who you are," says Cochran, "and that were all just so lucky to be here."
Both Tammy and Gibson Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz have been named "Special People" by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for their support and inspiration. Henry has spearheaded the creation of three Gibson "Angels in Waiting" Les Pauls to be auctioned off at special fundraisers the next several months benefiting the CF Foundation.
You can bid on one of the "Angels in Waiting" Les Paul now through December 20 by calling 615-737-9500, 10:00am - 7:00pm CST.
Gibson will donate 23 guitars to the CF Foundation in 2002. Twenty guitars will be signed by various artists and will be available as auction items and for national fund-raising events, while the remaining three guitars are the "Angels in Waiting" Les Pauls. In addition, Gibson has been an avid supporter and sponsor of Sizzlin Country, a huge fund-raising concert presented by the Southern California Chapter of the CF Foundation, for the past seven years.
"I am very proud to support outstanding Cystic Fibrosis Foundation events such as Sizzlin Country and the All Star Music Bash," said Juszkiewicz. "Gibson is honored to have a role in raising funds and awareness on local and national levels to assist in the research and treatment of this illness, which afflicts more than 30,000 children and adults. Enormous progress has been made since my involvement with CF began in 1995, and through the continued commitment of corporate sponsors and individuals, we can help make a substantial impact in fighting this serious disease."
Through the beautiful lyrics of her song, and her personal and touching accounts of her two brothers, Cochran is reaching thousands of people who may find the inspiration to support the CF Foundation and the research it supports to help find a cure for CF.
Please consider a year-end contribution to help further CF research and make a difference in the lives of so many.
