Hot Country star Brad Paisley sings praises of his new Gibson Country Gentleman
Top Country Music Association (CMA) award nominee Brad Paisley is in love with his new guitar. "I've always wanted a Gibson Country Gentleman, now that I have one it has changed the way I play certain songs," Paisley said before a recent concert. "No other guitar is as versatile as this. It seems like if your going for the Chet style finger picking, it's totally there. If you want to crank up your amp and add a little slap you have an entirely different guitar. It rocks! Then switch to the neck pickup and you're in Jazz Land! I'm in love with it!"
Country diva Faith Hill and Paisley earned nominations in six CMA categories each, tying for the most nominations among all nominees. The three-hour Country awards gala will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network Wednesday, Oct. 4 (8:00-11:00 PM, EDT), from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Paisley is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Horizon Award. Hill is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year (with Tim McGraw for "Lets Make Love") and Music Video of the Year. Paisley's guitar player, Gary Hooker, plays a Gibson Les Paul Standard to accompany Paisley's Country Gentleman. "My Les Paul Standard gives me the definitive big sound," Hooker says. Hooker also switched recently to a Gibson Goldtone GA30-RVS 2X12 guitar amp.
