King Biscuit radio and Gibson to give away a dozen rare Les Pauls
Gibson Guitar and King Biscuit Flower Hour National Radio Network are partnering up on a holiday promotion throughout December and early January where rock fans across the country have a chance to win rare, autographed guitars by celebrated rock musicians including Pete Townshend, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Peter Frampton, Leslie West and many more.
Gibson Guitar will sponsor the King Biscuit Flower Hour Radio show featuring "Guitar Greats part I & II," a compilation of guitar heroes taken straight from the King Biscuit Flower Hour vaults, highlighting artists who signed guitars for the promotion. This two part series airs the weeks of December 25th and January 1 on close to 180 King Biscuit Flower Hour National Radio Network affiliate stations.
"The King Biscuit Flower Hour is proud to be associated with Gibson Guitar and all its affiliate radio stations across the country," said Steven Ship, President of The King Biscuit Entertainment Group. Ship went on to say, "We wanted to give a little back to our affiliates by allowing their listeners the opportunity to win rare autographed guitars by rock legends from the King Biscuit archives. King Biscuit is excited by the tremendous feedback received from its affiliate partner stations and welcomes all the new stations that have recently joined our national radio network."
Nearly three decades from it's inception, The King Biscuit Flower Hour radio show continues to broadcast live concert recordings across its nationally syndicated radio network that includes close to 180 radio stations, bringing its live concert heritage to fans new and old. The King Biscuit Flower Hour launched as a nationally syndicated radio program of live concert performances twenty-seven years ago and was the first live concert series created for radio. The first live concert was recorded and aired on February 18, 1973, an electric triple bill featuring the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Blood Sweat & Tears and a then unknown Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band.
King Biscuit is expanding the scope of its operations by digitizing the archive of
live audio recordings for the internet. Music fans can log onto the web site that just launched in late July to listen to great live rock concerts from the 70s through present day at www.KingBiscuitRadio.com.
The featured King Biscuit artists will sign a dozen Gibson Les Paul Junior Lites, the next generation of the classic, 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior. This is a player's guitar with a sleek double cutaway, mahogany body, a 1960 slim taper neck with rosewood fingerboard, and two fiery, stacked-coil P-100 pickups.
