Gov't Mule's Allen Woody passes away

Former Gibson employee and long time Gibson endorsee, Allen Woody, passed away Saturday, August 26. Allen was a member of the Allman Bros. for nine years and since 1997 bassist for Gov't Mule. His untimely death was sudden. The cause is yet to be determined.

"The Gibson family has lost one of it's own," said Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz. "Our hearts go out to Allen's family."

Woody spoke recently about his music and said, "Music is a way of conveying your emotions and that's the way you feel at the time and it shouldn't really have all of the pressures of modern society. It should be stripped down to what it was in its initial form, which is communication."

In lieu of flowers, Gov't Mule requests that donations payable to the Savannah Woody Educational Fund be sent c/o Hard Head Management, PO Box 651 Village Station, New York, NY 10014.
