On Saturday October the 30th, the celebrated guitar builders at the Gibson Acoustic Guitar Division, based in Bozeman Montana, will host a Gibson Acoustic- Montana Celebration which will be open to the public in downtown Bozeman at Music Villa on 34 West Main Street.
The focus of this event will be the sharing of Gibson's significant role in American music and the world's music culture since the early 1900s.
Gibson Acoustics began a worldwide renaissance when the Gibson Guitar Corp. opened its acoustic building facility in 1989 in Bozeman Montana. Since then, Gibson Acoustics have won critical world acclaim with artists and music lovers as some of the finest acoustic guitars ever created in Gibson's long and illustrious history, which began in 1894.
Music Villa will co-sponsor this event, which for one Saturday morning and afternoon, will turn their entire store into a walking Gibson Gallery of spectacular handmade acoustics.
This display of America's finest handcrafted instruments will mark the first time that the residents of Bozeman Montana will be able to experience "first-hand" the breadth and significance of Gibson instruments, which are built by the hands of its very own people.
This magnificent display will not only include every model currently built by the Gibson luthiers in Bozeman, but will also feature some rare and unusual Gibson creations including set # 2 of the official John Lennon Collection valued at $50,000, and the very first display of the new Gibson Sheryl Crow acoustic guitar scheduled to be release to the public in November 1999.
In addition, there will be a special Gibson Montana Custom Shop display, as well as a separate presentation of special run models, some of which are the only ones of their kind in the world today.
To launch this one time event, the staff and luthiers at Gibson Montana will join the Music Villa staff at the event to greet the public and answer any questions regarding the handmade acoustics built by Gibson in Bozeman.
Music Villa is located in the heart of downtown Bozeman at 34 West Main. This event will be open to the public one day only.
