Bowling, billiards and Epiphone get together to help cure cancer | |
|
Epiphone donated a celebrity-signed PR-200 and an Elvis EJ-200 model to a celebrity Bowling Bash last night in Nashville to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation. The Nations Bank Bowling Bash, at the Hermitage Bowling Lanes, featured bowling, billiards, a silent auction and a host of celebrities. Spotted at the event were teenaged country singing sensation Leann Rimes, Darryll Lewis of the Tennessee Oilers, former "Hee Haw" stars Jim and John Hager and songwriter/TV personality Gary Chapman. The signature-laden PR-200 was auctioned off, and the Elvis Guitar was first prize at the Epiphone Lane where a strike entered the bowler in a drawing. Billy Pearson, a bowling-savvy former employee of Hermitage Lanes (and hopeful future star) wound up winning the EJ-200. Gibson's own Pat Choate is now the happy owner of a one-of-a-kind Gibson Hawk, made especially for the Fruit of the Loom Country Comfort Tour, and signed by Hank Jr., Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels and others. Choate also scored herself a tour jacket. The T.J. Martell Foundation, which helps fund cancer research, is a favorite charity of the music industry. The Foundation was set up by music industry executive Tony Martell, whose son T.J. died of leukemia.
