Mavs and Gibson tape "Welcome" spot for country awards | |
|
Mavericks lead singer Raul Malo and bassist Robert Reynolds brought their Gibsons along yesterday as they taped two TV spots to air during the Country Music Association's annual awards show on Wednesday (9/24). In the studios of Nashville's CBS affiliate, WTVF (Ch. 5), Malo posed with an eye-catching Translucent Purple flametop, Bigsby equipped ES-336, while Reynolds clung to a vintage sunburst Thunderbird bass. "On behalf of the Mavericks and Gibson...," Malo said--or tried to say--as the two welcomed viewers to the awards show. After several false starts, Malo and Reynolds eased into polished TV personnas that would have made Chuck Woolery jealous. Watch for the Mavs and Gibsons on the CMA Awards, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. (EDT) on CBS.
