| Wallflowers and Marilyn Manson Use GMI Products To "Bring Down The House" at MTV Video Music Awards | ||
|
The Wallflowers, nominated for three MTV Video Music Awards ("Best Group Video," "Best New Artist In A Video" and "Best Editing" for the video "One Headlight") fired up various GMI instruments in their live performance of the song at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards Show, which aired last night. Drummer Mario Calire kept time on a set of Slingerland drums. Lead guitarist Mike Ward, who normally summons his muse with an early '70s Les Paul Signature hollowbody, wielded an ebony Howard Roberts Fusion. Lead vocalist/backing guitarist Jakob Dylan strummed a '54 Les Paul Junior. "One Headlight" is just one of the killer tunes featured on Bringing Down The Horse the band's second record and first release on the Interscope Records label. Epiphone instruments also made a fine showing at the awards show, in the brutal hands of fellow Interscope Recording Artists Marylyn Manson. Bassist Twiggy Ramirez hammered a Thunderbird bass while an Epiphone Les Paul with silverflake finish also suffered a torturous sonic demise.
