Gibson Musical Instruments Kim Richey & band use Gibsons, Epis and Slingerlands to fight depression at Station Inn

Along with the Bluebird Cafe, Nashville's Station Inn ranks as one of Music City's legendary venues for live music.

The 12th Ave South club bills itself as the World Famous Station Inn -- and it lives up to its claim in the world of bluegrass music -- but the Station also hosts a "No Depression" night, featuring progressive country artists... or by it's more accurate nickname "cool country."

One of the coolest cool country acts is Mercury Recording Artist Kim Richey. Currently touring in support of her second release Bitter Sweet, Richey plays for the hometown crowd in tonight's edition of "No Depression."

For the occasion, Richey is packing a mid-'60s Gibson J-50 and new CL-40. She's also brought bringing along an Epi Frontier of '60s vintage.

Drummer Billy Beard will have his favorite kit, an old set of Slingerlands while session ace Kenny Vaughan has strung up his Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman.

Judging from the soundcheck, these guys oughta smoke. And Gibson.Net plans to be there for sure. Stay tuned for a recap of the gig.
