Gibson Musical Instruments Gibsons In Big Country

A bevy of Gibson artists will be paying homage to their country roots tonight at Nashville's Ace Of Clubs.

At 10:00 pm, the "Big Country Band" will be blowin' the dust off of some old classics with the $10 ticket proceeds benefiting various East Nashville Schools, who have organized a program to supply winter clothes for the homeless and disadvantaged children.

While Trisha Yearwood won't be strumming her Chet SST tonight, she will be supplying vocals. Kim Richie, however, is likely to play either her CL-40 or one of her vintage Gibsons. The Mavericks' Raul Malo will likely tote his J-200 while Rodney Crowell and Gibson's own Tom Spaulding will represent for the J-45 crowd. If The Mavericks' Robert Reynolds isn't playing tic tac, chances are he might pick up his Thunderbird or Les Paul bass.

Other performers include sometime Oberheim OB3 2 player Jerry Dale McFadden, Gail Davies, Jamie Harper, Rex Gardner, Kevin Owens, Jim Lauderdale, Tom Lewis and Red Volkaert.

The roving eye of Gibson.Net dropped by soundcheck to find Kim Richey hangin' with her proud parents while the musicians were making last minute tweaks on the set.
