The new Epi calendar has something for everyone--from the subtle curve of a classic body to a good excuse for a party.
The calendar is loaded with beautiful Epi models--the guitar kind and the musician kind. The front cover features a body that can only be described as Excellente. Inside there's something for every taste--acoustics, electrics, amplifiers; And those gorgeous bodies--thin bodies, solid bodies, rounded lower bouts; Hey, we're talking guitars here. We've got cutaways, we've got cutoffs, we've got sunburst, natural and fishnet. (It's easy to get confused, with page after page of beauties, and even one skunk--Skunk Baxter guitar, that is.)
The calendar has an additional level of appeal as an international celebration guide. If you need an excuse to celebrate on the day after Christmas, for example, December 26 happens to be Boxing Day in what's left of the old British Empire (Great Britian, Canada, Australia and New Zealand). A few more choice examples: Empire Day in Australia (1/26), Waitangi Day in New Zealand (2/6), the queen's birthday in the Netherlands (4/30), Canada Day (7/1), National Day in Belgium (7/21), John Lee Hooker's birthday (8/22), Late Summer Holiday in Great Britain (8/25) and Our Lady of Guadalupe's Day in Mexico (12/12).
Important dates in Epi history are also chronicled, including the company's original incorporation as Epiphone (1/1/28) and the birthday of Epi founder Anastasios Stathopoulo (2/15/1863). One of the most important Epi days, appropriate for a memorial or a celebration, or both, is June 6--the day that the original Epi, Epaminondas Stathopoulo, died in 1943 and also the day that current Epi president Jim "Epi" Rosenberg was born in 1957.
As an extra bonus, the calendar includes the first two installments of Ask Dr. Epiphone, with important info on sustain and pickups.
