New Emmylou TV special chronicles "Building the Wrecking Ball"

How do you build a Wrecking Ball? Emmylou Harris and producer Daniel Lanois offer an inside look at the making of Emmylou's Grammy-winning album in the one-hour TV special, "Building the Wrecking Ball," to air some time in December.

The musical documentary features six songs from the Wrecking Ball album, cut with footage from studio rehearsals, recording sessions at Lanois' Kingsway Studio in New Orleans, and from live shows in Colorado.

As she has throughout her career, Emmylou plays a Gibson J-200 in the special. Lanois coaxes unique guitar sounds out of his Gibson Firebird. Steve Earle, one of many songwriters/guests on the sessions, plays a Gibson F-5 on his song "Goodbye."
