Hearing Is Believing: The Power and Possibility of Open and Alternate TuningsGrosse Gitarristen haben sich oftmals Gehoer verschafft, indem sie sich ausserhalb der Norm bewegten und eine gute Moeglichkeit, dieses zu tun, ist sich ausserhalb der Standard-Stimmung (EADGBE) zu bewegen und abweichende und offene Tunings zu benutzen. Diese Stimmungen, welche etablierte aber auch recht radikale und originelle beinhalten haben vielen Gitarristen ueber die Jahre geholfen, sich aus der Masse abzuheben und das Ohr des Hoerers zu erobern. Ofmals kann man mit offenen Stimmungen ungewoehnliche Melodiestrukturen und –begleitungen spielen, die mit normalem Tuning sehr schwer zu erreichen sind. Es sind richtige Aufmerksamkeitsheischer und haben zu vielen grossen Hits aus dem Rock, Blues, Jazz und Countrybereich beigetragen, von denen man nicht wusste, dass es sich um andere Tunings handelt, bis man einmal versuchte, es nachzuspielen.
