[ Les Paul Special Double Cutaway ] In early 1959, the Les Paul Special took an aesthetic leap forward, from the traditional Les Paul single-cutaway body to a bold, double-cutaway design. Although the body style was only produced for a little over a year, it became as much a classic as the original Les Paul style.
