Tonal Characteristics
Mahogany is a medium-dense wood with excellent resonance and superior sustain, and it offers a rich, round, warm tone, but with plenty of high-end sheen and good midrange presence. The mahogany of the Don Felder EDS-1275 also lends a percussive snap and some added clarity to the tone of the guitar.  
The Don Felder EDS-1275 follows the classic lines of the original EDS-1275 Double 12, one of the most iconic guitars in the history of rock. Its relatively thin, flat-topped body both aids resonance and reduces the weight on the player's shoulder. Its beveled edges offer a timeless appearance, while its dual, slightly offset cutaways yield good access to the neck's upper frets. Body Design

The finish of the Don Felder EDS-1275 has an aged, "played-in" feel.
The Don Felder EDS-1275 is hand-finished in nitrocellulose in a multi-step process that is carefully monitored to ensure minimum build-up, to produce a finish that breathes with the guitar and enhances natural resonance. Once the finish has dried, it is buffed and then hand-aged to reflect a guitar with more than 30 years of playing wear.
