1964

Tal Farlow chose a different route than his counterparts in the early 1960s. Instead of playing a standard carved top instrument, Tal opted for an enhanced Gibson ES-350 as his guitar of choice. Because the laminated maple top provided a smooth mellow tone, Tal proceeded to blaze new musical horizons with his namesake instrument. The Gibson Tal Farlow makes as much of a statement visually as Tal does musically. With its unusual scroll inlay and signature peghead, the Gibson Tal Farlow is truly a unique looking guitar. Because Gibson produced only 215 of these guitars from 1962 to 1967, the Tal Farlow is one of the most sought after Gibson "Artist" guitars and will enhance any vintage collection.
